WhatsApp is introducing an advanced search filter feature for channels
WhatsApp has released a new update for the application that allows users to find channels with advanced options. Users can now filter channels within the app's dedicated section to view channels affiliated with their country only, or any other country, in addition to the "Global" option that displays all channels without restriction to a specific country.
Furthermore, users can filter channels more extensively by choosing to view the most active, popular, or newest channels. They can also directly search for channels using the search bar.
WhatsApp has started rolling out the new update to users on the Google Play store for Android devices and the App Store for iPhone users. It is expected to be gradually distributed to users in the coming days.
These new options make it easier for users to explore available channels within WhatsApp without prior knowledge about them, enabling users to join channels that align with their interests.
It's worth noting that channels are a new feature in WhatsApp that allows channel administrators to send messages to their followers while maintaining user privacy by not revealing their personal data.
WhatsApp currently offers the channels feature in nine countries: Egypt, Morocco, Chile, Colombia, Kenya, Malaysia, Peru, Singapore, and Ukraine. The platform is expected to expand the availability of this feature to more countries gradually by the end of the current year, following continuous improvements before a broader rollout.
